To the Family and friends of "Guiney" ..... If Dan liked you he would do anything for you, If he didn't like you he told you . The night Crew at Orange Regional respectfully called him the "Count ". He filled our night with dedication to his job ,stories of the Past ( NYPD ) and of the Love of his family. He LOVED his movies and unsinkable boat . as the song goes: " there are places I'll remember all my life, though some have changed…all those places have their meanings, of friends i still can recall…in my life, i love you all."
looming large in those memories for me is the Guiney Family, whose open arms and indefatigable love are part and parcel of my formative years--without which i would not be the man i am today.
I am forever grateful for the love of Guiney and Nora in the life of my family throughout my youth and then on into adulthood. Please know that we are all there in spirit celebrating Danny's life and mourning his passing…in a flash in am back on east 9th street in your house ( which i often will dream of) and Nora is making meatballs in the kitchen, eating some of the seasoned raw beef and sharing it with me.

I worked with Lt. Guiney in the crime scene unit and he was a true cops cop. He stuck up for his detectives which is a rare thing to do today. I was proud to serve with Lt. Guiney
