Mrs. Hughes was my fourth grade teacher at St. Bernard's in 1978. She was a Great teacher that understood how having a few laughs in the classroom made for a more productive class. She had a Great sense of humor, we had a lot of fun in her class and we learned. I remember her favorite saying was "Oy Vey"
Mrs. Hughes, Your Teachings and Life lessons were well Learned by your students. Thank you and Rest in Peace!

Mrs. Hughes was one of my favorite teachers in elementary school. SHe was so compassionate, fun and had such a passion for her students. Although it has been nearly 27 years since I was in her class, she left a footprint in my life that helped mold me into the women and educator I am today. RIP to an amazing role model.

Mrs . Hughes was one of the greatest teachers and women I have ever known. She taught with love and truly understood children. All my 4 children had the privilege to be in her class, and I don't think they ever learned as much from any other teacher as they did from her. It was a very sad day at St.Bernard's school when she left. She was and will always be loved by us all. She was a legend. Rest in peace Mrs Hughes. ❤️

I am sure there will be many of Mrs. Hughes' former students writing lovely things about her. And every one is deserved. I had her has a teacher in 1974 and have nothing but wonderful memories of her. She was not only a great teacher, she had a real respect for and love of kids... and it radiated from her. She was always kind, patient and sweet. I hope she knew how many lives she affected. God bless her and her family.

God Bless Mrs. Hughes! My fondest memories of my Catholic school education are my 4th grade experience and all interactions with Mrs. Hughes. She taught me about the importance of charity, relationship, acceptance, and forgiveness. She left a forever impression upon me and I have tried to carry her teachings with me in my work and in the raising of my children. Her memory will live on! Prayers and condolences to her family and friends. A profound loss!
