Thank you Joan for the hospitality that you and your family showed to me in 2000 when I came to visit. You were very kind for letting me stay there and for having Joey, Katherine and Kenny show me around NYC, and the great family history information. Thank you cousin Jack for being there too! I will always remember.
Sincerely, distant cousin from Montana
Pete

Aunt Joan was such a constant source of love and support from my childhood. I've prayed for her for 37 years and she prayed for me and that meant so much to me. She means so much to me and always will. She will always be an inspiration to me and a pattern for how to love and care for others.
My heart, my love and prayers are with you in your loss. May God hold you in His heart and comfort you.

Dear family,
You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I join you in feeling the deep loss of dear Joanie. I will miss her notes of encouragement. So much love! She just had to stick some in an envelope and mail it off to you, by snail mail of course. It was nice to get those loving notes in the midst of bills and ads. I remember visits to Brooklyn with bagels and coffee around the kitchen table and her famous ziti later in the day. Good times! She also visited us in Virginia but I remember it was "too quiet" for her to sleep well. Pete was struggling with Alzheimer's on her last visit to Virginia and our last visit to Brooklyn. She was so good with him. He always remembered his baby sister. It is hard to think of life without her but we have the hope of a heavenly reunion. May your fond memories and this blessed hope comfort you during the days ahead. I love you all!

I love you Uncle Patty Joe, Uncle Jack, Joey, Kenny, and Kathryn. What a loving and beautiful soul Aunt Joan has always been. My heart goes out to each of you because while we all know she is resting, safely, in the arms of Jesus, her Savior and Lord, she will be deeply missed. God bless each one of you.

I have know Joanie for over 60 plus years and have spent fun times with her, her mom, dad, Nanna and her brother Jack, a dear friend. In our teen years, we would all pack up some clothes and head off to Haines Falls with her mom and dad, for a weekend getaway from the hot summer days in Brooklyn. We would also frequently "hang out" together with our friends on and near Avenue M and a park nearby. I will always remember Joanie as a quiet and sweet girl, who always had a smile for you. We both went to St. Brendan Grammar school, just a short walk from our homes. My memories of spending time with Joanie, Jack and their extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins will never be forgotten. My condolences and prayers to Joanie's husband Pat, children Joey, Kathryn and Ken, brothers Jack and Pete. We have lost a good and kind soul, but heaven has gained an angel.

I'm praying for strength for your family.
I'm going to miss Joan's encouragements and notes. She was a beautiful example of what a Christian woman should be. She's in a beautiful place. She's heard the Words we all want to hear."Well done good and faithful servant."She's now dancing with Jesus and whole in body. No more worries about having only one kidney or anything else.
She'll be missed by the people in Coney Island where she showed the love of Jesus each time she went.
