Childhood Lost
I went for a visit to my Grandfather's Farm,
Where once was reality. Are days now Long Gone. O where are the places I knew like my hand, Where I, as a young boy,
could conquer all land
Where hay lofts, Were ship's deck
And plowed lands the Moon
As I cried each September
And longed for next June.
What Right! Have you progress.
Making memories fade.
There's concrete and steel, not the trees that God made. As the houses move closer,
They don't understand That they're killing my childhood, as well as the land.
Well I sat there and cried.
For these places are gone
And only my memories, help me gone on.
