I had the privilege of spending time with the Mallett family in the bungalow colony as a child, with my parents, Frank and Maureen West. The summers that we spent time there are now some of my favorite childhood memories, and Freddie was a big part of that. From the swimming hole, his big Caddy, learning about Cropsey and just spending time with such a large, loving, fun and wonderful family was an honor. My sincerest condolences to the Mallett family.

Freddie was a father to my mom. Pat and Freddie took my mother in like she was one of their own and gave her a home, filled with support, warmth and unconditional love. Pat and Freddie taking my mom in as one of their own, changed her life. Their examples as parents, have shaped both my mom and dad, and the light, laughter and legacy of the Mallett family has been an incredible family to be a part of. Rest in peace Freddie. I'll always remember the watering hole and your big personality. Thank you for being you.

Freddie always had an understated swagger & presence. He exuded a sense of confidence yet was a soft touch to those he loved & those he worked with as a proud NYPD Detective. On a personal note, he & Pat shared their family & gave their blessing to Mo & l & for that I will be forever grateful! "Thank You For Your Service" to our Country & thank you for your friendship & stewardship. Semper Fi & Rest in Peace!

Fred Mallett was such a giant of a man. He loved to take anyone who would go with him in his big Cadillac to the Ashokan Resevoir to show us what was so special to him when he was growing up. Thank you.
He was always in my life ever since I can remember. I will miss you Freddie.
Love, Peggy
