I met Mr. Russell last year when fitting him with hearing aids in his home, and there were several things that amazed me. He was sweet and gentle and smiling even when in pain, and when we gave him the phone to test drive his new hearing devices, he was remarkably well versed in the latest baseball games!! Although I did not know him very well, I must say that the character of his sons Mike and Andy, must reflect on what an excellent father and role model John must have been. They researched the best, most comfortable options for their father and did not hesitate to invest in John's quality of life even at an advanced age. They also took the time to write New Years cards and thank you letters to me for my medical care. It takes a certain kind of Dad to raise sons this loyal and grateful. It has been my pleasure getting to know your family and I was thrilled to learn about how much the hearing care enhanced your final year of life. Rest in Peace Mr. Russell... you did a great job in this world!

It was a great honor to meet John this past Summer. My wife Bonnie always spoke so highly of him and once spending time with him I understood why. Kind of heart and infinitely patient John was genuinely intrested in getting to know me and make feel like family. The highlight of our trip to NY was getting him lobster and playing Monopoly. He never lost his keen intellect and spoke fondly of growing up a huge sport fan and a dedicated father to his Sons and husband to his late wife whom he now joins in eternity. A true Gentleman that all will truly miss.

John Russell was the best father-in-law in the world. He was always kind, generous and loving. He could spend hours telling you stories about his late wife and their life together. Family always came first to him and he loved his family dearly.

My grandfather was one of the most kind and honest people I’ve ever met. I am lucky to have many great memories whether it was him visiting us for my birthday parties in AZ when I was a little kid or getting to explore New York with him when I was a little older. I will never forget our long phone calls where he would tell war stories or talk about my Grandma Frances. I will miss him, but I am glad he got to meet my husband Jeff and see pictures of his great grandson JJ before he passed away.

John was as genuine and as kind as a person can possibly be, and that is the honest truth. There are not many people like him around anymore. Since I was a young boy every Spring he would let me plant flowers and vegetables in his back yard and was always so grateful when I would give him the tomatoes or basil from the garden in the summer. I will miss him.
