Obituary of Kathleen Bonatakis
Kathleen Bonatakis, age 92, of Brooklyn entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Mrs. Bonatakis was born July 8, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Katherine (O'Grady) Rogers. Devout Catholic and active member of Mary Queen of Heaven Parish for many years. Kathleen's involvement included the Rosary Society, Senior Group and the Catholic War Veterans Society with the American Legion. Beloved wife of 43 years to the late Kimon Bonatakis. Loving mother of Karen Tan (John), Ann Vigorito (Anthony), Joseph Bonatakis, John Bonatakis (Christine) and James Bonatakis. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer, Michelle, Kathryn, Gretchen, Jessica, Christina, Shannon, Kaylee, Joseph, Mary, Isabella, Patricia, Mary and Kathleen. Dear great grandmother of Kendall, Theodore, Matthew, Karalyn, Leah and Jack. Kathleen was predeceased in life by her beloved siblings, James, John, Vincent, Joseph, Martha and Daniel. Adored Aunt and Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Reposing Monday, June 24 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, June 25 at Mary Queen of Heaven R.C. Church, 1395 East 56th Street, Brooklyn.
Burial will immediately follow at Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale where Kathleen will be laid to rest with her late husband, Kimon Bonatakis.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
