Dear Dad,
Another year has passed and I still miss you. They say it gets easier, but I haven't found evidence of that. I think what they mean is that it changes from large reminders to the many smaller and endearing reminders that I encounter every day that always make me smile and keep your spirit alive. I wish we had more time together. I hope you like your candle and are resting comfortably. I love you very much. Kevin

Dear Dad,
I can't believe it's been 1 year since you have left us. Not a day goes by where I don't think of you or feel you in some fashion. You are the best Dad a son can ask for. Your dedicated, kind, gentle, sweet, artistic, and corny humor are among many of your traits that I love and miss. I still wish you were wish us, but I know you are in a better, comfortable, happy, and content place. I miss you, I love you!

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
