Obituary of Lillian Cortes

Lilly Cortes, 78, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Brooklyn, NY died peacefully on February 1, 2020, at Health Park Hospital in Ft. Myers. Born October 1, 1941, in Cabo Rojo Puerto Rico, the Island of Enchantment, Lilly was a retired Social Worker living in Cape Coral with her 2 cats, Missuri and Meetzeereezi. She was an animal lover and loved the warmth and sun of Florida. Lilly was an active member of the Cape Coral Parish of St. Andrews. She loved to watch The View and The Bachelor. She was a dedicated NY Mets fan and attended many games leading up to, especially their world series win in 1969. Survivors include her 2 children, Lourdes Rivero of Florida, and Jose Cortes of New Mexico, and granddaughters Bernadette, Karina, Erica, and Christie; Grandsons Chinito, Lucien, and Michael. She was also survived by seven great-grandchildren and her two sisters, Eva and Herminia.

Reposing Friday, February 7 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, New York.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 8 at Our Lady of Refuge R.C. Church, 2020 Foster Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
Burial to immediately follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx.
