Obituary of Phyllis Ciannella

Phyllis F. Ciannella, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at New York Community Hospital. She was born on April 2, 1928 to John and Assunta Panzuto. She was the eldest sister to Lucille and Dolores.

Phyllis graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1946.

She married Francis Xavier Ciannella on November 5, 1949. Together they raised 4 children; John, Joseph, Camille and Susan.

Phyllis retired from Morgan Guaranty Trust Company in 1990 and was a contributor to her church St. Catharine’s of Alexandria, where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and Young at Heart Senior Citizens Club.

Phyllis was always surrounded by her family. As the matriarch, she showed them what the true definition of love was. It showed in how she raised her children, took care of her grandchildren and showed off her great grandchildren. She loved everyone with everything that she had, if you walked through her door, she treated you like family.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Francis, her son John and her sister Lucille. She is survived by her sister Dolores, her 3 children; Joseph, Camille and her husband Michael, Susan and her husband Anthony, her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
