Obituary of Marie A. Trotto

Marie A. Trotto, age 72, of Brooklyn entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.  Mrs. Trotto was born August 27, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York. She is the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Isabella (Bonnar) Buirkle. Marie grew up in Brooklyn and attended Erasmus Hall High School. Marie met the love of her life, Angelo Trotto at a fraternity party at Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in October 1966. The two sweethearts married on May 7, 1972 and began a beautiful life together. Marie and Angelo welcomed a baby girl, Cassandra “Cassie” in July, 1976. The family bought a home in Marine Park Brooklyn in November 1976. In 1990, Marie and Angelo built a home in the Catskills. In the last several years, Angelo and Marie spent their time between Brooklyn and Jewett, New York while vacationing in Dunedin, Florida every February.

Marie is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Angelo Trotto. Loving daughter, Cassandra “Cassie” M. Gountas and her husband, Evaggelos "Angelo" Gountas. Cherished grandson, Konstantino “Dean” Gountas. Dear sisters, Margaret Daly, Isabella Buirkle, Regina Korn and treasured brother, Joseph Buirkle. Marie was predeceased by sisters, Catherine “Cassie” Raber and JoAnne McNulty.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May Marie's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
