Queen Bee
Dear Great Nanny Rose,
Even as the youngest of 3 this simple fact remained clear to me.
No matter where you were or what was happening in the world , you remained our families queen Bee.
Like any good royalty , you kept your family safe and protected
if we were given a vote , you’d still be the queen we had elected.
You did your job as a mother of 3.
But when asked , you did not hesitate.
You took a breather and unleashed your second wind. Becoming the grandmother of a now extended family tree
As the years went by and the moments passed ,
There came a time where you once again were asked.
And like clockwork you prepared for your 3rd shift
Now a little more tired , your presence began to drift.
Somehow as the years wore on , your mind grew even more strong.
Clever and cunning you remained, and soon as a great you were named.
For 2 decades this reign remained,
We began to believe it was immortality you had gained.
But even for the greats a last breathe must be drawn.
Thanks to you , our family will live on.
Your job is finally done and you retired with lore.
For the legacy of Nanny the Great will always be our families core.
As life would be meaningless without death.
You peacefully passed with your final breathe.
But like oxygen that we need to breathe.
We all know Great Nanny you will never leave.
And in our hearts and minds you will remain.
It is your name not God’s that we refuse to use in vain.
As this novel has now come to a close,
As a family we’re proud of the leader we chose.
And although our hearts will be a little choppy ,
Our hearts can be put at ease , knowing you’re reunited with great poppy.
Watching over our family as we know you will ,
The legacy of Great Nanny will be written by Quill.

In her younger years Rose was the life of the party - she loved to sing and dance and had a beautiful voice. She was extremely friendly and would love to sit outside and talk to all that would cross her path. She enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden and was crafty and artsy. When we needed help with a project, drawing or poster she would always be there and simply draw “free hand” - she could have been an artist. Rose also passed her time sewing and ironing for the family, she was practically a dry cleaner! It wouldn’t be a holiday without her famous iced cookies that we all looked forward to having. Our Great Nanny
will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. She persevered through so much during her long life and demonstrated amazing strength till the end.We are sad that she is gone but happy that she can Rest In Peace with her beloved husband, relatives and friends. We will love and remember her always.
