Obituary of Orville Thomas
Orville Thomas, age 65, passed away on June 21, 2021. He was the eleventh child born to the late Clifford and Margaret Thomas. He was born on July 20, 1955 in Corn Piece Hayes, Clarendon, Jamaica.
Orville attended Hayes Primary School after which he took up a trade, some of which he learned from his father. He was a talented tradesman who was also skilled in carpentry work. While still in Jamaica, he worked at Alcoa Bauxite plant from approximately 1978-1983. In 1984, he migrated to America where he lived in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a welder.
He was a very sociable man who enjoyed listening to reggae music, dancing, and spending his free time with his friends and family. He also took pleasure in spectating and placing bets at the racetrack.
Orville is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who he was dearly loved by.
Gone, but not forgotten!
The funeral service will be held from 2:00 - 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Brooklyn Faith Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 5518 Church Ave, Brooklyn, NY. The viewing will be from 2:00 - 4:00 PM.
Repast will immediately follow the funeral service at 258 Kingston Avenue, Brooklyn, NY.
