Mrs. Dettmer (by brother Joe and I always called her formally since we first knew her as kids! ) was a good friend of my mother, Gladys. They worked closely together for many years at St. Theresa of Avila/Holy Spirit School. They had lunch together everyday up in my Ma's classroom for probably 15+ years! They also went to various Broadway plays and Mets baseball games with the Sisters of St. Joseph who also taught in the school. When Ma retired, she continued to keep in touch with Eileen, with either the occasional phone call, birthday and Christmas cards.
May she rest in Peace in heaven. God Bless.
