Obituary of William Christopher Morrisey

William “Bill” C. Morrisey passed away on December 5, 2021 at the age of 91.  Bill passed away peacefully and comfortably in his home, surrounded by the love of his family.  Bill was preceded in death by his wife Frances.

Bill will be remembered by many as a man of great faith, honor and integrity.  He was a dedicated man of service to our country and community, serving in the Korean War.  Bill was also the longest living member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, having been a parishioner since 1940 and a lector over the years.

Bill is survived by daughter Moira, and sons Francis and William (Kim).  Bill is also survived by his sister-in-law Anne and his extended family including his nieces, nephews and their children and grandchildren, as well as many dear friends.

Forever in our Hearts

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May William’s soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Out of an abundance of caution during these times, the family wishes for funeral home visitation to be held privately. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church, 1315 E 28th St, Brooklyn, NY 11210 on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 10:30 AM.  Burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, NY.

In lieu of flowers the family has suggested donations of Christmas flowers (Bill’s birthday was on Christmas Day) to the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, where Bill visited and supported over the years.  Specific Christmas Flower donation support can be made at the following website  https://stfrancisnyc.org/christmasflowers/.
