Obituary of Regina I. Abell

Regina I. Abell (nee Kennion), 62, passed away peacefully at home on January 21 2022 at 10:10pm surrounded by her loving family.  Regina was a lifelong resident of Marine Park, Brooklyn.

Regina is survived by her husband, Charles Abell.  Loving mother to Charles (Sunwoo), Catherine (Jonathan) and Amanda.  Adored Grandmother to Liam, Tyler, Charles and Gwendolyn.  Regina was a devoted sibling to her 3 sisters; the late Cecilia Socci (Patrick), Catherine Porta (Eugene) and Mary Soubasis (James) and 3 brothers William Kennion (Margaret), James Kennion and Joseph Kennion.  A cherished aunt to 16 nieces and nephews and the great aunt of many grandnieces and grandnephews.  Also, a kindhearted stepmother to 9 stepchildren and their families; Richard, the late Raymond, Dawn, Patricia (Randy), Charles (Janet), Timothy (Jennifer), Christopher (Meredith), Thomas and Jaqueline (Ryan), and many step-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Catherine and William Kennion.

Regina was a strong, selfless and stoic woman who always put others needs before her own. Regina enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Regina was an avid reader, a wonderful cook and #1 fan to her grandchildren’s many sporting events.  Regina was known for her strength, perseverance, and determination as well for her passion for having a strong work ethic. Regina worked as a Controller for a non-profit organization for 30 years.

Reposing Tuesday, January 25 from 2:00 - 5:00 & 7:00 -9:00 PM  at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn.

Funeral Mass will be held 9:45 AM on Wednesday, January 26 at Good Shepherd R.C. Church, 1950 Batchelder Street, Brooklyn.
