Christine and I have been dear friends since First Grade in St. Catherine of Genoa Parish in Flatbush where we grew up.
In our teens we worked together in King Kullen Supermarket on Brooklyn and Tilden Aves. She hung out with us as teens in my folks candy store on Church Ave.(Sam's luncheonette)
Having a car at 19, we would go out on weekends, I would drive from Flatbush to Sheepshead Bay in the summer and pick up Chris at the Ferry from Breezy Pt to Emmons Ave and then we would continue on to pick our friend up and party for the night.
Eventually we wound up on the same peninsula, Chris at Breezy and me in Belle Harbor.
Many times life got in the way and we wouldnt contact each other for at least 6 months or so..many times I initiated the phone call or" lets get together" gesture.
She was notorious for not calling and forget texting!.
But when we did connect we always started where we left off.
I lovely started to call her "Princess Broken Finger"
We connected many times almost accidently thru this last two years of the pandemic and she promised to get better at keeping in touch.. and she did!
We stayed in each others lives for 65 years.. 'YOU CAN'T MAKE OLD FRIENDS"
So rest in glorious peace my dear, dear friend, I will always miss you" Princess".
Your old pal,
Ann Savino-Murphy

Chrissy had such a beautiful way of making me, and everyone around her feel special. I will miss her dearly. She was an incredible mentor, guiding force and loving hand. She was there, cheering me on, through every phase of my life. Her kindness, brilliant advice and laughter will forever be in my life. I am truly blessed to have been her God daughter. RIP.

Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She loved her friends and was dedicated to doing all she could to make the children she taught experience a host of fabulous opportunities that otherwise they would not be able to. She was generous to a fault making sure each child had hats and gloves for winter time. The staff lost a great coworker. Chris was someone you could look to for help and creative ideas. Heaven has gained a very special angel. Chris Rest In Peace.
