Obituary of Patricia Ann Reilly
Patricia Reilly, 64, formerly of Brooklyn, New York, passed away suddenly on July 19, 2022, at her summer home at Fawn Lake Forrest, Hawley, Pennsylvania.
Patricia was born on June 3, 1958 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Thomas and Louisa (Greegan) Reilly. She is survived by five siblings, Mary Comer, Thomas Reilly, Julia (Patrick) Kennedy, Martin (Margaret) Reilly, and James Reilly; brother-in-law Robert Stappert; nineteen nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister Virginia and brother-in-law Thomas Comer.
Patricia attended St. Agnes Seminary Elementary School in Brooklyn and St. Savior High School in Park Slope. She received her college degree in education from St. Joseph’s College in Brooklyn and her Master's Degree in education from Fordham University. She then began her career as a teacher in the New York City School System just like five of her older siblings before her.
A lifelong devout Catholic, Patricia was formerly a parishioner at St. Ignatius Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. for over 45 years and was active in several parish groups. In recent years, during the summer months, she had attended Mass at Queen of Peace Church in Hawley, Pennsylvania, and Queen of Peace Church in Florida during the winter.
Patricia had spent her summers at her home in the Pocono Mountains for over 30 years, and for the last 14 years, she has spent the winters in her Florida home. But she always faithfully returned home to Brooklyn to celebrate the Christmas holidays with her family.
In retirement, Patricia enjoyed swimming, water activities, bingo, and playing board games with her relatives and friends. Patty also enjoyed occasional trips to local gambling casinos accompanied by several of her siblings and nieces.
