Johnny was such a bright, creative, courageous, loving and talented boy. He truly loved art and it showed in all of his artwork. He enjoyed drawing, coloring, painting and sculpting and was able to express himself this way with ease. I am so fortunate to have had the year to work with him remotely where I learned how smart, driven and motivated he was to learn. I looked forward to his participation in all group lessons, but truly treasured every one to one instructional time. It was amazing to see how much he grew both academically and socially that year. He pushed me to be a better teacher for him. Ruthie, you were literally by his side every day and we created some amazing memories that year. He is forever in my heart. Sending love, strength and prayers.
My deepest condolences,
Meryl Hayes

You've been the best parents and brother that anyone could hope for and Johnny was so fortunate and blessed to have been part of your family, and for your care and love. We can't imagine the depth of your love or the pain you must be feeling now. In time, we hope the suffering will ease but we also know that the love will live forever. You're all in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

Johnny has been in our hearts for a long time and will remain. Each step he took to fight cancer, recover from a procedure, and keep on going, inspired us and endeared him to us. We will always remember his strength, how hard he tried and how precious he is. Our deepest condolences on his passing-- from the Human Resources team and HRIS at EmblemHealth

Johnny was a courageous boy who continued to fight however it never stopped him from pursuing his artistic creations. He will continue to inspire me for years to come. It was a pleasure sharing my time with him at 215.

Dear Storniolo family,
I will miss Johnny and the sunshine he brought to all of us at the P231K family. Ruth, the moment you toured our school I knew Johnny would be the perfect fit at P231K. He thrived in our program. He surprised us everyday with all the skills he had. Johnny loved to learn and wanted to learn more and more. All throughout treatment, Johnny was online learning and never quitting. He never said no to school or any work we gave him. When he came to school he loved being there. He loved all subjects, he was great in reading and math. He was a true artist too. At recess he would socialize with his friends and just loved everything. Johnny was resilient and such a strong boy. His strength, bravery and positivity gave us strength. He will always be loved and never forgotten.
With deepest sympathy,
Ms. Sherry Valentine
