Obituary of Sadie Puleo
Sadie “Sally” Puleo, 95, of Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully at her home on December 7th, 2022 with her younger son by her side.
She was born to Mario and Jennie Bonaventura in Brooklyn on October 2nd, 1927. She grew up in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn with her younger sister Josephine, and lived in close proximity to many relatives. Sadie graduated from Girls’ Commercial High School. During World War II, She worked in Astoria, Queens at the Signal Corp, as a secretary. After the war, she became a legal secretary in a private law firm. In 1947, she moved with her family to E. 28th St. in the Midwood section,
where she lived the rest of her life.
Sadie married Frank E. Puleo on April 11th, 1948. She was the loving and devoted mother of her three children. Sadie was a wonderful homemaker and was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Peter Puleo and his wife Robin of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Diane Damanski and her husband Charles of Freehold, New Jersey, and Robert Puleo and his partner Marie Ferguson of Brooklyn, New York. She is the cherished grandmother of Christopher Puleo, Chuck Damanski, John Puleo, Gennine Damanski Wittreich, Peter W. Puleo and by great grandson Francis (Frankie) Wittreich. Sadie was predeceased by her loving husband Frank in 2016.
The visitation for Sadie Puleo will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Help of Christians RC Church on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 9:30 AM - the family will be gathering at the funeral home by 8:30 AM. The entombment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in New Jersey.
