Obituary of Marilyn Anne Danese
Marilyn Anne Danese of Breezy Point, New York passed away on December 22, 2022, at home surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, NY to Bartholomew Hayes and Anna (nee Daly) Hayes on July 5, 1944. She graduated high school from St. Joseph Commercial in Brooklyn, New York. Marilyn worked as one of the first female licensed brokers at Smith Barney & Company in New York City.
Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, playing golf with friends in Florida, and was famously known as “Operator 47” on the Golden Age Sewing Team in Breezy Point.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Sebastian; children Sebastian Danese, Richard Danese, and Marie Carvalhido (John Carvalhido); grandchildren Carlyn, Aileen, Penelope, John, Sebastian, and Samantha; brothers David Hayes and Richard Hayes (Debbie Johnston); and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers William and John Hayes.

Visitation will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home, Brooklyn, NY on Monday, December 26th from 3:00 - 8:00 PM.
Funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Church in Breezy Point, on Tuesday, December 27th at 11 am, with Father Peter Purpura officiating.
A luncheon celebration of Marilyn’s life will follow at the Rockaway Point Breezy Point Catholic Club.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations to the Rockaway Point Volunteer Fire Department are welcome.
