Obituary of Richard M. Kirshy
Richard M. “Rich” Kirshy Jr., 51, of Eldridge, Iowa, formerly of Wausau, WI and Brooklyn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston.
Richard was born on August 15, 1971, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Richard M. and Rosemary B. (Dunne) Kirshy. He graduated from Xaverian High School, Brooklyn, in 1989 and continued his education at Pace University, New York City. On June 20, 2003, he married Jennifer Opper in Wausau, Wisconsin. Rich worked at various insurance companies as a claims manager, but most recently for Sentry Insurance. He was a devoted husband, supported his children in all their endeavors, and was a friend to all.
Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Jennifer Kirshy of Coralville, Iowa; his children, Scout Kirshy and Logan Nelson, both of Coralville, Iowa; his parents, Richard & Rosemary Kirshy of Brooklyn; siblings, Michele (William) Martell of Howell, New Jersey; Daniel (Leslie) Kirshy of Brooklyn; Jennifer (Frank) Arzberger of Brooklyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Emily Kirshy and Jeremiah & Eleanore Dunne; his aunt, Virginia Kirshy; his uncle, Ronald Kirshy; and his cousin, Alison Dunne.

The Memorial Visitation will be held at Marine Park Funeral Home on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM & 7:00 to 9:00 PM. The Committal Service will be at St. Charles Cemetery on Saturday, February 18, 2023 - the family will be meeting at the cemetery by 12:00 PM.
