I can hear you grandmother
I can hear you Speak in Spanish.
I can hear and smell your cooking. I can hear you singing to our favorite song. I can hear the jokes we shared And the laughter's that we share. I can hear your voice on the phone I can hear your words of wisdom. I see you painting your nails I can see us dancing
I can see you putting on your lipstick
I can see you Wearing your best outfits
I can see us watching TV
I can see you waving at me from your window
I can see us eating together
I can see us shopping
I can see us together for the holidays
I can see us driving around town.
But I did not hear you passing away
But now I can't see you hear you or
Talk to you
But I did not get to say goodbye to you
But I did not see this coming
But I did not see the Selfishness of others
But you know what you will live in my heart forever
And the memories we Shared can never be taken away from me

Mama,
thank you for being a grandparent we could count on. the memories the laughter and your bravery through out all these years have always been an inspiration, Your story's memorable and always filled with lessons, your charisma and uniqueness unmatched. I can honestly say you've might have been the only grandmother in the world that smoke cigars and wore bandanas and while other grandma's baked cookies for there grand kids, you were different, you always had a little envelope with a few bucks in it for your grand kids and some real life advise. I deeply wish I could of held you for your final hours but that will never change the impact you've made in my life. you live through me and will always be a part of me.

You are the first woman in my life, and I am glad to be your daughter. You have set an example of how a woman can single-handedly run the house and fulfill her career dreams. You were a caring and loving mom, yet you were super strict at the same time. Even though I may not have liked it at that time, the way you managed things taught me valuable life lessons. You helped me learn to take the honorable path in life. The happiness of your family always been your priority. Through this letter, I want to express how much I will forever love you and miss the conversation we had via phone or in person. Irrespective of the physical distance, you will always remain close to my heart. In my memory you will live as long as I do.
I pray for your eternal peace mother. Learning of your passing through social media on the day of your funeral was devastating to myself and my other siblings, nieces, nephew and our spouses. It was made clear that we were not welcomed to attend and say our farewells and just to see you one last time. While we later understood these were your wishes, our eldest sibling executing these wishes on your behave was heart wrenching and unimaginable. It is with heavy heart that this will be our memory.
We love you and miss you!
