It was wonderful to meet and see Trudy’s family after all these years. I feel such comfort meeting everyone. Catherine, you are the anchor to your mom, your siblings and to your family who is the focal point to everyone. Just like my oldest (big) sister, Sue (there are 3 Sue’s in my family), we all have our different strengths but we all go back to her.
Eileen, I was so honored to know your mom kept a picture I sent her in one of my Christmas letters of my husband and I when I married, in an album with descriptions that she creates yearly which is also her “Family Album”. I too have many albums but not as organized as your mom. I know there’s got to be one more picture somewhere in my album collection. It’s lost in there somewhere.
Joseph, it was nice meeting you and chatting with my prior colleague from PwC, Marie Torres. You now know what I meant by my ‘circle’. The many circles I have, always come back to me in full circle. I would’ve never known Trudy had a Facebook page if I wasn’t Maria’s backup before she left PwC. We were looking at her resume and saw she went to Brooklyn College. That’s where I proceeded to tell her that I also went to Brooklyn College and found a job working with Trudy Quinlan. Maria flustered a bit saying Gertrude Quinlan. What a small world. I asked how did you know Trudy? Maria’s best friends with Louise, Jimmy’s wife and always saw Trudy when Jimmy had a Memorial holiday BBQ! That’s when I became Facebook friends with Maria and saw Trudy on her friend’s list. From that point on, Jimmy also became my FB friend and the rest is history. I always loved seeing Trudy being tagged on Facebook and seeing family gatherings. Maria is in my circle.
Jimmy, I'm so glad you reached out to me. Meeting you and everyone meant the world to me. Your cousin, sorry, I didn’t get his name. If he’s a Quinlan, your Quinlan family is also in my circle. What are the chances we are both from Levittown, PA? He mentioned Edgerly Road which is just down the road from where I live off Mill Creek Road and Bristol Oxford Valley Road (Blue Ridge section). It gives me great comfort knowing your family will always be in my circle.
I loved it when you all called me her “Student Aide”. I haven’t heard that term since I left school! Thank you so much for me being a part of your family.
Love,
Sue Ann
Update: Jimmy sent me the pictures of your mom and I the only time I went to visit! I remember saying hi to Jimmy, he was living upstairs at the time. I would love to see you all on day again!

"Well done, good and faithful servant....."
I have fond memories of Aunt Trudy through my teen years. We all lived in Brooklyn...within walking distance. I remember her as a kind, quiet woman... I remember visiting her and Uncle Joe when they lived in an apartment near us on Snyder Avenue...then later visiting at the house in the East 30s and I believe Ave J.
Then life happened and we all started growing up and making our way in life and our contact was limited...sad to say...mostly seeing her and my cousins at family weddings and funerals.
Well done, Aunt Trudy. A great reward awaits you.

My deepest sympathies to the Quinlan family.
I found a job request in Brooklyn College through a Financial Aid grant.
Just out of Midwood High School, I must’ve been 18 or 19 yrs old to work at my first paying job in the Secondary Education Department where Trudy posted a position asking for a typist. I loved and enjoyed working with Trudy and learned what courses students had to take to become a teacher. Typing and making copies from a mimeograph machine for instructors to use in class.
Over the past 40 years, we’ve always kept in touch writing each other at Christmas time until I no longer received any more Christmas letters from Trudy but I kept sending her one because I knew it was getting harder for Trudy to write and was starting to not see too well. I knew someone (one of her grandchildren) would read them to her. She had written to me her granddaughter lives close to her and would come over to help her with groceries. I will always cherish the Christmas letters I have from her.
Trudy, we will meet again to reminisce about the good olde times we had. May you rest in peace and watch over your beautiful family.
Love,
Sue Ann Ng-Martinez (Levittown, PA)
