Sean and Chris I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Thank you both for sharing her with us.
Claire I will miss you dearly, You were my second mother, my confidant and support through out my whole adult life. If ever I needed a prayer or just someone to talk to - you were there for me. I don't know how I will ever fill that void. You were like a grandmother to all three of my children. I know you are with Jesus, Nick and your entire family and friends who have passed before you. It is knowing that you are with them all that comforts me. I love you and you will always remain in my heart.

What I will remember most about Aunt Claire is how much she loved her entire extended family. She has reinforced in all of us the importance of being there for your family in good times and in bad. That lesson can really only be taught through actions. And to all of our benefit, she practiced those actions every day. For those of us that are married, she and Nicky also reflected outwards the virtues of a good partnership. We could all learn from the way they loved and supported each other.
I will also remember how she was a constant presence in our home through her phone calls with Mama. They spoke so often that sometimes it seemed like she was there with us at the house. She and Mama would talk about the news, politics, faith and (my favorite) correct each other on who had the right version of some of their famous stories from their days growing up together.
She has left us all better people. Because of her we are more faithful, more forgiving, more thoughtful and more connected to each other. Claire will certainly be missed. The only solace in any of this is that she and Nicky are together.
