Obituary of Rose M. Power

Rose M. Power, age 82, of Brooklyn, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, April 4, 2024. She was born on August 14, 1941, in Kingston, Jamaica, to the late Lena Agatha Hewitt and the late Charles Reginald Power. Rose was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, deeply loved and cherished by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Chester Henriques (Bernadette) and David Seung, and her grandchildren, Brittany, Jasmine, and Charleston. Rose was also a dear sister to Chester, Patricia, Anthony,Peter and George. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Harry and Fredrick. Rose also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She will be missed by her two caretakers Sherry and June.

Rose had a passion for shopping and took great delight in finding treasures of all kinds. Her love for food knew no bounds, as she relished in experiencing various cuisines. Known for her generous and supportive nature, Rose touched the lives of many.

Upon immigrating to the United States from Kingston, Jamaica, Rose embarked on a fulfilling career that spanned over 25 years at the Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Manhattan, where she dedicated herself to caring for others.

 

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, on Thursday, April 11, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12th, with a procession forming and departing from the funeral home at 10:00 AM, proceeding to St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, Long Island.

Rose will be deeply missed but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
