Loving and giving are the first words that come to mind when we describe our Zia Lidia. She was an example of loving kindness with strength in every way. When Zia Lidia made you a sandwich, you had to make sure that both hands were ready to hold onto a giant bite of love. She worked hard but loved harder. Zia Lidia was able to hold onto her old-world ways yet give them a modern twist so that everyone could embrace them and marvel at her progressiveness. When times were tough, it would be Zia Lidia to step in and say, something to the effect of, “come on little ones, what can we do? What can be done?” Her visions and ideas were always looking forward and upwards. Our Zia Lidia was loving and giving and will be missed. May Perpetual Light shine upon her.

Lidia was a kindhearted loving gracious woman! She always welcomed us with open arms and cared about each of us. Lidia was like another Nonna to our boys Rocky and Jeffrey. She enjoyed cooking for them when they visited. Jeff the younger got to see her often as a young child and he always managed to get her to laugh at his antics. To her Rocky was a curly headed golden boy who always had compassion and Lidia loved seeing and hugging him. She will be so missed by her entire family including her extended family … the Napolis. Rest in peace lovely Lidia and thank you for all your love.

My heart is with you all during this time. She will always be with you and watching over you.
Your mom was an inspiration to me. She taught us to be strong women through her words and her modeling for us. I loved sitting with you and her as she made us espresso, of course, sweetened. She welcomed me with the greatest hospitality to her home in Italy and in Brooklyn, which was magical and so relaxing. In Italy, shehad more energy than I did, always wanting to see new towns and exhibits. I realized quickly where your sense of adventure and travel and eagerness to learn new things came from. Her cozy living room was where we spent many times studying, doing homework and having fun conversations. She always made sure we had eaten something homemade and delicious that with her special ingredient love!
Moreover she taught us to always be there for family and those we love, especially during challenging times.
I am sad that I wasn’t there to see her after I moved to California and don’t know where time went. I will forever be grateful to her. I know she was so happy with the blessings of her grandchildren and great grandchildren to carry on her legacy and traditions. She was able to see the persons you have become and that made
Her heart fill with pride and peace. She has gone home to the Lord and will always be watching over you. With Love and Friendship Always, Antoinette Brusca
