Obituary of Lidia Bove
Lidia Bove, age 91, of Brooklyn, NY passed away Sunday, January 29, 2023.
Lidia was a strong, kindhearted woman. She was brave and worked very hard her entire life. From her days in Italy, to her days in Prospect Park, to the moments she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She loved to cook. She had so many recipes that she shared with the people in her family. The common denominator in all of her recipes was love. It all came down to love. Lidia loved making struffoli. Struffoli was her family Christmas tradition with her family. It brought her a lot of joy during the holiday season.
She always loved her espresso. She liked her coffee with two teaspoons of sugar, and she would always want that little espresso spoon inside the cup for her to mix the foam that would be at the top.
One of her favorite dishes was pasta with a fresh tomato sauce. Her favorite dessert was Cassata.
Lidia was born November 28, 1931 in Italy. She was the daughter of the late Giulio and the late Giovanna (nee Panella) Proia.
Lidia was married to the love of her life, Aniello, for sixty years. Lidia loved her children, Maria, Julia, and Antonella very much, and loved her son in law, Dominick Napoli, like her own son. She was an inspiration for the entire family.
She also adored her grandchildren. She would always look at their pictures. She would never get tired of seeing her grandchildren, Giorgio, Maureen, Aniello, Danielle, Dominick, Kelly, Teresa, Russell, and Angela. She loved her great grandchildren, Gracie, Vienna, Luca, Lucy, Miles, Vincent, and the baby girl now to be born in March.
Lidia had a full life of beautiful, priceless memories. She loved to travel. She even got to see Walt Disney World and take a picture in front of the castle.
Her favorite show was Un Posto Al Sole. She would always call her niece, Anna, every time the show would start at around 7:00 in the evening to remind her about the show. She also loved watching The Golden Girls in the morning, and Family Fued at night.
All in all, Lidia Bove loved everyone in her family very much, and she is at peace right now, protecting her loved ones, like the angel she has always been.
Forever In Our Hearts
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. Lidia’s soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
